Role Summary
The Marketing Director will lead DC Byte’s marketing strategy and department. As a member of the DC Byte senior leadership team, the candidate will be part of developing, supporting, and executing our overall business strategy. DC Byte is growing fast and has not, until now, had a marketing leader. The successful candidate has a unique opportunity to build a single scalable function that will accelerate our growth.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and execute comprehensive marketing strategy from market definition, sizing and penetration, to plans and campaigns.
* Ensure effective activity across full mix ideal customer profiling, campaign management, new business lead generation & scoring, customer engagement and retention, digital marketing, social media, automation and analytics.
* Lead and manage the marketing team (currently a team of two), including structure, hiring, training, and performance evaluation.
* Oversee market research and analysis to identify trends and opportunities, incl. competitive positioning and customer insights.
* Manage the marketing budget and ensure cost-effective utilisation of resources.
* Collaborate with other departments to align marketing efforts with overall business goals.
* Lead the team to support industry events, conferences and strategic partnerships that enhance brand visibility and generate leads.
* Define and refine our brand positioning, ensuring consistency across all marketing channels and assets.
* Monitor and report on the effectiveness of marketing initiatives.
* Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including vendors and partners.
* Ensure brand consistency across all marketing channels.
Qualifications
* Minimum of 7 years of experience in marketing leadership roles in B2B subscription information business.
* Bachelor’s degree or higher in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field. Or accredited membership of a recognised marketing body (e.g., Chartered Institute of Marketing) with associated training.
* Proven track record of delivering a performance driven marketing function, executing successful marketing strategies and driving collaboration and alignment across the business (primarily sales/commercial functions, product development, research & data).
* Extensive experience of delivering targeted activity and associated messaging around value propositions, key messages, collateral development, and competitor positioning.
* Expertise in lead generation, demand generation, and marketing automation using HubSpot.
* Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to structure, develop, lead and motivate a team.
