St John’s Catholic Specialist School is a school for young people up to 19 years with special educational needs. Our mission is to support our students to gain the knowledge and skills they will need to thrive in adult life. Every day is different, and staff work with pupils with a range of different needs, which include sensory impairments, communication and learning challenges or autism. We are looking for Speech & Language Therapists interested in progressing their career in working within a specialist setting.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Plan and deliver speech and language therapy sessions for your caseload.
2. Work collaboratively with other therapists, teachers, learning support assistants, and care staff.
3. Monitor and report on pupils’ progress.
4. Provide recommendations and guidance to parents/carers, colleagues in school, and other professionals.
5. Maintain case records in line with school policy and RCSLT guidelines.
6. Keep up to date with relevant clinical research.
7. Participate as required in the supervision and training of SaLT students.
8. Participate fully in whole school training sessions and meetings.
9. Attend and contribute to annual reviews as directed.
10. Play a full part in the life of the school community, supporting the ethos, rules, and regulations.
