Job Description We currently have a vacancy for a Work Package Engineer who will be responsible for developing Construction Work Packages (CWPs) and Installation Work Packages (IWPs) to support the Advanced Work Packaging (AWP) process in Engineering, Procurement, and Construction Management (EPCm) project delivery. This role involves close collaboration with engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning teams to ensure work packages are comprehensive, logically sequenced, and aligned with project schedules. This role is based full time on site in Teesside. Responsibilities Work Package Development Create CWPs inline with the Construction Sequence Detailed engineering phase: Develop Construction Work Packages (CWPs) with input from engineering that include construction drawings, specifications, material lists and any safety, health and environmental (SHE) requirements. Construction phase: Track the release of the CWPs and support the sub-contractors by preparing Installation Work Packages (IWPs) templates with step-by-step instructions, plant & equipment lists, resource requirements, material requests, installation sequences and any quality checklists such as Inspection Test Plans (ITP) and Inspection Test Records (ITRs). Act as a link between engineering and construction by integrating technical information such as isometric drawings, installation diagrams, pipe support details, welding procedures, and termination details. Ensure all IWPs are construction-ready and facilitate smooth execution without further clarification to ensure they are executed per the schedule. Collaboration and Coordination Work closely with engineering, technical systems, procurement, and construction teams to gather necessary information and inputs for developing CWPs. Coordinate with the completions and commissioning teams to ensure work packages are aligned with system completion requirements and project handover processes. Participate in regular meetings and workshops to review work packaging progress and address any issues or concerns. Providing coaching, support and guidance to the subcontractor's front-line supervisors in developing the IWPs. Schedule and resource management Develop a CWP release plan based on the L3 project schedule and track completion and timely release to Construction Ensuring timely delivery and release of IWPs constraint-free to the field. Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation for all CWPs and IWPs. Support the resolution of any outstanding work items or punch list tasks to facilitate a smooth transition into systems completions. Qualifications Qualifications and experience: Education: Engineering and/or Construction related vocational qualifications Experience: Minimum of 7 years of EPC or EPCm project delivery, with specific experience in work package development preferred. Relevant competency card such as CSCS / CCNSG or equivalent. Mindset/attitude/aspirations Recognises a need for change in the approach to executing complex projects Desire to improve current field productivity with enthusiasm to drive the need for change Drive to “get it done” attitude, self-motivating and enthusiastic Essential Skills Construction trade (on the tools experience), in terms of supervising crews in the field Comprehensive understanding/experience in coordinating and executing site Construction activities Proficiency in scoping and creating site work packages IT literacy, basic proficiency with a desire to learn Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and disciplines. Desirable Skills Understanding of EPC/EPCm project lifecycles, processes, and interdisciplinary coordination. Familiarity with project management software and tools (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project). Previous experience creating work packages utilising an AWP delivery model. Experience with AWP software tools such as AVEVA ERM is an advantage. Ability to create and utilise 4D animations to visualise project schedules and work sequences.
