We are currently looking for a motivated Junior Aerodynamicist to be responsible for the generation of new aerodynamic concepts and designs for the race car, as well as efficient testing and analysis of those concepts.
It is essential to ensure that the aerodynamic specification of the race car is constantly evolving to improve its performance. In this role you will be actively involved in developing aerodynamic solutions for the race car. Working in one of our development teams, the role will involve all aspects of aerodynamic development including concept definition, testing and analysis of experimental and numerical simulations.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Areas that play to your strengths
All the responsibilities we'll trust you with:
1. Create new geometries using CAD;
Submit geometries to test in both WT and CFD and manage the process;
Analyse results from CFD and wind tunnel and recommend track test of performant geometries;
Define, specify and manage effective and efficient wind tunnel tests;
Conduct wind tunnel testing (some shift work will be required).
2. Suggest, investigate, (and where applicable) implement new methods and processes to improve efficiency of aerodynamic ideas generation, design, testing, analysis and reporting;
Provide flexible attendance and attitude to work, both in line with the requirements of the role and any specific requirements of the projects;
To work in a professional manner at all times regardless of the task set and be pro-active in promoting a positive image for the department / team/ sponsors.
3. Maintain and develop good relationships with aero performance group, aerodynamics development group leaders and senior aero management;
Communicate effectively with other groups such as model design, model shop, aero technology group, CFD methodology group, aero production and wind tunnel systems group.

Qualifications
1. An outstanding qualification in a relevant subject, e.g. PhD, MSc, or strong degree in Aerospace Engineering or similar;
2. Detailed knowledge of aerodynamic principles, wind tunnel testing, and CFD techniques;
3. A good understanding of data analysis tools and techniques and other multi-disciplinary engineering skills including CAD and vehicle dynamics;
4. An organized and methodical approach to work, excellent verbal and written communication/presentation skills;
5. Team-player attitude and the ability to work under pressure and with minimal supervision;
6. Initiative and innovation;
7. Excellent problem-solving skills.
