Responsibilities:
* Provide specialised educational support to secondary school students with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
* Create individualised learning plans to cater to the specific needs of each student
* Deliver engaging and interactive lessons to support the academic and social development of SEN students
* Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure the holistic development of students
* Monitor and track student progress, adjusting teaching strategies as necessary
Minimum Requirements:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent qualification
* Experience working with students with SEN
* Strong understanding of SEN strategies and interventions
* Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Education or related field
* Prior experience working as a SEN Tutor or in a similar role
Skills:
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of students
* Strong organisational and time-management abilities
* Empathy and patience when working with SEN students
Desirable Qualifications:
* Postgraduate qualification in Special Educational Needs
* Training in specific SEN interventions and techniques
The role of Secondary SEN Tutor is based in a secondary school setting in Wokingham, Berkshire. The position is part-time, with flexible hours to accommodate student needs. The tutor will work closely with students, teachers, and parents to provide support and guidance in a collaborative educational environment.
