The role involves spearheading the development and execution of the Borough's strategy and plans concerning Domestic Abuse and Violence against Women and Girls (VAWG). This encompasses providing support to the Domestic Abuse Steering Executive, supervising The Domestic Abuse Advisory Services, and overseeing commissioned support services. A critical aspect of the role is to enhance the collaborative approach to preventing violence against women and girls, as well as domestic abuse, while ensuring the provision of relevant services across various agencies, both statutory and non-statutory. Additionally, the postholder is responsible for coordinating and leading complex projects and initiatives, including events, with the aim of addressing VAWG and domestic abuse in alignment with the borough’s domestic abuse and VAWG strategy. They also have oversight of the Domestic Abuse Multi Agency Risk Assessment Conference (MARAC) Steering Group, ensuring the quality of domestic abuse casework and driving improvement through partnership efforts, including facilitating Domestic Homicide Reviews (DHRs) and associated action plans.
