About the Role: As a Mental Health Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting students who are experiencing emotional and mental health challenges. You will work closely with staff to create a safe and supportive environment for students to thrive in. Your work will help students build resilience and access the support they need to succeed in school and beyond. Responsibilities of a Mental Health Support Worker: · Provide one-on-one and group support for students facing mental health challenges. · Offer a listening ear and practical advice to help students manage their emotions. · Work closely with teachers and school staff to identify and address students’ mental health needs. · Help create a safe and inclusive environment where students feel supported. · Assist in delivering mental health workshops and activities. · Track students' progress and provide feedback to staff to ensure effective support. · Collaborate with external professionals as required. Requirements for the Mental Health Support Worker Role: · Previous experience working in a mental health or educational setting (desirable but not essential). · A genuine passion for supporting students with mental health challenges. · Strong communication skills and empathy. · Ability to manage sensitive situations with professionalism and discretion. · A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the well-being of students. · Willingness to undergo all necessary safeguarding checks.
