Job Summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit a Band 7 Physiotherapist for Front of House at the Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital (NSECH). The team provides a service to the Emergency Department and a range of acute wards based at NSECH. The suitable candidate will be enthusiastic, innovative, and ready to take on the responsibility and challenges of a senior position within a busy front of house environment.
The post holder will work with the Principal Physiotherapist for Front of House and a team of 10 registered and unregistered Physiotherapy staff dedicated to front of house. The post holder will assist in the leadership of the team on a day-to-day basis.
The applicant will have the skills and experience to manage a complex caseload, providing high-quality physiotherapy to patients with a range of conditions. The role will involve daily MDT working; therefore, experience of working as part of an MDT is essential.

Main Duties of the Job
The post holder will provide expert assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of patients presenting to the Emergency Department and patients who have been admitted to an acute ward. Experience of working with older people in an acute setting is essential as a large number of patients are older adults. Experience of working within an Emergency Department is desirable.
The applicant must demonstrate excellent communication skills with Multidisciplinary Teams and peers. Applicants should have experience in supervision, education, and training of more junior staff and be involved in student education, research, and audit.
Applicants must provide evidence of continuous professional development and postgraduate training related to the role. The post holder will be expected to work collaboratively with the senior leadership team in service development; therefore, experience of service development would be advantageous.
The post holder will contribute to a weekend rota, working approximately 1 in 12 weekends, as well as an on-call commitment of approximately 1 on call every 6 weeks.

Job Responsibilities

Qualifications
Essential
* BSC Honours degree in Physiotherapy or equivalent
* Member of the Health Professionals Council
* Student training qualification

* Member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy
* Working towards Masters level or equivalent accredited courses within chosen speciality e.g. Action Research, McKenzie accredited practitioner, Injection Diploma, Continence Diploma, Accredited Respiratory Care Management.
* Leadership training e.g. LEO/ILM
