Vision for Education are currently seeking a full time Teaching Assistant for an SEN school based in Christchurch. This is for a full time, temporary to permanent position starting ASAP. You MUST have experience within an education setting to be considered, preferably with SEN/SEMH children.
You will be skilled at engaging and motivating students who find learning and communicating a challenge in both the classroom and during intervention sessions.
Full time (Monday - Friday 8:30 - 3:30pm)
Salary - £17’000 - £19’000
Key Responsibilities
* Work with and support pupils who require additional support.
* Help pupils to develop into independent learners to ensure they make good progress with their learning, as well as emotional well-being.
* Support pupils to access tasks and activities that they find challenging.
* Provide one to one or small group support to students with diverse learning needs.
* Assist the Teacher in implementing lesson plans and adapting materials.
* Support and work with teacher in testing/assessment.
* In conjunction with teacher, liaise with parents and pupil progress.
We Are Looking For Someone Who
* Has extensive SEN experience.
* Has experience with SEMH students, is knowledgeable and has experience in supporting children with complex needs.
* Is confident to work with students with social, emotional and mental health and challenging behaviour.
* Is enthusiastic and dedicated, with a passion for working with pupils who require additional support with their education.
* Has experience in engaging with students who demonstrate behaviour and communication needs.
* Has a strong background in English and Maths.
