Doncaster & Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals NHS FT
We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and innovative individual to join our team of dietitians and support staff. We need a keen team player with excellent communication skills who has an interest in diet, nutrition and patient care to join the dietitians and support staff across Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
The successful applicant will be based at Doncaster Royal Infirmary but will be required to work across sites at Bassetlaw Hospital and Mexborough Montagu Hospital.
Main duties of the job
1. Under the direct supervision of the Dietitian, facilitate the provision of optimal nutrition to inpatients and outpatients across the Trust.
2. Assist in the delivery and organisation of dietetic services within a range of specialities.
3. Undertake specific clinical responsibilities or projects supporting the overall delivery of dietetic services.
4. Work independently with some patients being the first contact from the dietetic service when determined by a Dietitian.
5. Support with the delivery of training for other staff members.
6. Work within agreed guidelines and protocols.

* Excellent verbal communication skills, with both individuals of all ages, and groups.
* Awareness and understanding of confidentiality, dignity and privacy.
* Ability to work independently and use own initiative.
* Ability to acknowledge own limitations and seek assistance / support where necessary.
* Ability to refrain from imposing personal beliefs and opinions on patients and public.

Qualifications/Training
* GCSE qualifications in Maths and English, or equivalent.
* Able to use basic IT systems e.g. word, excel, email.
* NVQ / City and guilds or other qualification in nutrition.
* Use of Clinical IT systems e.g. SystmOne.
Knowledge And Experience
* Knowledge and interest in nutrition and health.
* Previous experience of facilitating groups.
* Previous experience of working in a team.
* Previous experience of providing advice to patients on an individual basis.
* Previous experience of taking anthropometric measurements e.g. height, weight.
