Hybrid working 3 days/week on site Overview Join our dynamic Packaging Development Group As a Packaging Development Engineer, you'll play a crucial role in developing cost-effective, environmentally compliant packaging and toting solutions. You will support various divisions within the company, ensuring smooth manufacturing, assembly, and delivery to our customers. Projects are run at a rapid pace with lots of opportunities for variety in the workload and an expectation of self-management of time and workload. Projects take place across multiple sites and locations within the Renishaw group. Responsibilities Innovative Design: Create packaging solutions that adhere to the packaging directive, minimise volumes and weights, and optimize material usage. Cost Reduction: Focus on reducing product costs, quality costs, and shipment volumes. Sustainability: Design for circularity and sustainability. Supplier Collaboration: Liaise with packaging suppliers and their design teams. Change Management: Control and issue packaging changes within the Renishaw change mechanisms. Product Testing: Conduct thorough packaging product testing. Toting Design: Design toting solutions for internal and external piece part transfer. Cross-functional Liaison: Work closely with external suppliers, internal purchasing, and vendor assurance teams on new and existing designs. Requirements Degree in a design-based subject/HNC-ONC with relevant experience Experience in design/production environment Full driving license – multi-site working but based at our HQ near Wotton-under-Edge Desirable requirements NX Experience Practical hands-on experience Qualities Innovative thinking: Must be capable of thinking outside the box Benefits When you join Renishaw, we're committing to your future career.
