About the role:
Our client is a well-established and growing temporary works engineering consultancy based in the UK. They have 5 offices across the UK and provide solutions to international clients.
Solutions they provide include designs for hoardings, propping and shoring, crane and hoist pads, pile mat designs, sheet piling, excavations, falsework, formwork, demolition temporary works, and designs for rail engineering.
The role can be home-based or at one of their UK offices, and working times can be flexible around employees' lives.
Responsibilities:
1. Design engineering solutions for a range of standard, complex, and bespoke projects.
2. Provide support to our engineering teams nationwide with design, design checking, and draughting.
3. Preparation of clear and well-structured design calculations and reports.
4. Ensure design risks are considered and prepare design risk assessments.
5. Consideration of buildability and sequencing.
6. Site visits and client meetings.
7. Maintenance of project documentation records.
8. Liaising with clients to understand their specific requirements.
9. Building lasting relationships with clients based on understanding and service.
10. Work individually on smaller projects or as part of a team on larger, more complex projects.
11. Handle multiple projects at any one time.
About The Candidate
1. Ability and drive to progress to a more senior management/director level role.
2. Strong background and proven track record in temporary works design for large-scale projects.
3. Chartered or looking to work towards chartership.
4. Effective and consistent communication.
Skills & Experience
1. Knowledge of relevant British Standards and specialist documentation in temporary works.
2. IT literate.
3. Ability to use drawing software such as AutoCAD.
4. Experience using 3D/2D structural analysis programmes.
5. Either already achieved or aiming towards becoming a Chartered Engineer.
6. Experience working with specialist contractors and main contractors.
