Senior Microfluidics Engineer

Salary: up to £57k depending on experience
* Key Skills: Broad knowledge of manufacturing techniques and materials for microfluidic devices.
* Experience of taking a laboratory prototype microfluidic device to volume manufacture.
* Experience of the product development lifecycle from initial feasibility to established production.
The Role:
* Specify and develop microfluidic devices for droplet-based workflows.
* Convert microfluidic prototype designs to manufacturing specifications including detail design drawings, materials specifications and test procedures..
* Work with third-party manufacturers to establish cost-effective manufacturing approaches for microfluidic devices.
* Manage efficient transfer to manufacture of new devices with third parties.
* Test prototype devices by designing and assembling test jigs and by operating laboratory rigs.
* Assist in developing fluidic, optical, electric and mechanical interfaces between microfluidic devices and instruments.
* Generate concise, professional documents and reports.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Broad knowledge of materials for microfluidic devices.
* Experience of the product development lifecycle from initial feasibility to established production.
* Competent with multi-phase flow and interfacial phenomena.
* Practiced CAD user, SolidWorks preferred.
