Job Overview
As the Site Manager, you will be responsible for the overall management and maintenance of the school's facilities and grounds. Working closely with the senior leadership team, you will play a key role in maintaining high standards of site safety, security, and cleanliness, contributing to an optimal learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
Building Maintenance: Oversee and carry out regular checks, inspections, and repairs on school premises, including classrooms, grounds, and equipment.
Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure all areas comply with health and safety standards; conduct routine risk assessments, fire drills, and liaise with health and safety authorities as required.
Security: Manage site security, including opening and closing the premises, ensuring access control, and maintaining a safe environment for staff and students.
Contractor Management: Coordinate with and oversee external contractors, ensuring that work is completed to high standards and within budget.
Resource & Budget Management: Manage maintenance budgets, school equipment, and inventory, making recommendations for necessary improvements and repairs.
Emergency Response: Be the primary point of contact for any site-related emergencies and respond to critical situations promptly and effectively.
Requirements
Proven experience in a facilities or site management role, ideally within an educational or similar environment.
Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations and site security protocols.
Excellent problem-solving skills with an ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Basic proficiency in building maintenance skills, such as plumbing, electrical, and carpentry work.
Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently.
Flexibility to work occasional weekends and evenings if required.
Qualifications
Relevant qualifications in facilities management, health and safety, or site management are desirable.
DBS clearance (or willingness to undergo necessary checks) is required.
