Royal Birmingham Conservatoire (RBC), part of Birmingham City University, is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Senior Administrative Officer to join its Principal’s Office team. The Principal’s Office is integral to supporting senior management across all functions at RBC. In this role, you will oversee the day-to-day management of more than 300 hourly-paid tutors who are central to delivering teaching and learning in Music and Acting. Your responsibilities will include supporting tutor recruitment, induction, workload allocation, and processing pay claims. You will also administer the University’s Workload Allocation Model within the Conservatoire and play a key role in organizing Open Days, which regularly attract over 350 visitors. This involves collaboration with academic and administrative teams within RBC and the wider University, including HR, finance, and marketing. Key Responsibilities: Manage the recruitment, induction, workload allocation, and pay claims for hourly-paid tutors. Administer the Workload Allocation Model. Play a lead role in the organization of RBC Open Days. Collaborate with academic and administrative teams across RBC and Birmingham City University. We are looking for candidates who have: A degree or equivalent relevant experience. Proven administrative experience in a teaching and learning environment. Strong IT skills, including proficiency with standard applications and the ability to analyse and interpret large datasets. High attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to build and maintain relationships with colleagues, students, and external partners.
