Overview Why this role? As the Director of Digital, Data & Technology, you will play a vital role in leading our teams in the design and delivery of digital solutions that truly meet user needs. Reporting to the Executive Director of Digital & Strategic Change, you’ll lead teams across Data, Technology Operations, Delivery, and Development, ensuring our digital experiences are intuitive, accessible, and built with the end-user in mind. You’ll have four direct reports leading teams in Data, Software Development, Service Delivery and Technology Operations. A team of 44 in all. What You’ll Be Doing Leading User-Centred Digital Delivery: Champion the development of digital solutions that adhere to user-centred design principles, leveraging standards such as GOV.UK and the Digital Standards for Wales. Driving Data-Driven Decision Making: Oversee the Group’s progress towards powerful data informed analytical organisation, ensuring data is at the heart of our ethical decision-making processes. Innovating with Cutting-Edge Technology: Explore and adopt innovative digital tools and practices to enhance user experiences and operational efficiency. Ensuring Security and Compliance: Maintain high security standards and ensure compliance with data governance and ethical AI practices. Strategic Leadership and Collaboration: Work closely with senior leaders to drive strategic change and deliver on customer and colleague satisfaction. Communicating Impact: Ensuring the benefits realised through technology in terms of value for money, customer experience and efficiencies are visible and understood by all stakeholder groups. Who We’re Looking For We need an experienced digital leader who is: User-Centric: Passionate about designing digital services that prioritise user needs and accessibility. Strategic and Visionary: Able to lead digital transformation with a clear, strategic vision. Innovative and Forward-Thinking: Always exploring new technologies and approaches to enhance digital delivery. Experienced in Public Sector Digital Standards: Familiar with GOV.UK or the Welsh digital Service Standard, including accessibility and user research practices. Collaborative Leader: Able to inspire teams and build strong, productive relationships across all levels. Essential Qualifications And Experience Proven experience leading digital delivery with a user-centred design approach. Strong knowledge of digital service standards (e.g., GOV.UK, Digital Standard for Wales). Strategic leadership experience in digital transformation, data management, and IT infrastructure.
