Due to ongoing growth, HMH in Kintore, Aberdeenshire have an exciting new opportunity for a Machine Shop and Fabrication Supervisor to join our existing workshop team.
Main Responsibilities
1. Oversee CNC Machining and Welding operations ensuring high attention to detail and safety
2. Take a lead role in risk assessments and tools box talks
3. Co-ordinate activity in consultation with the Mechanical Supervisor and Planner
4. Act as focal point for all machining and fabrication activity
5. Take leadership responsibility for contractors and visitors within the workshop
6. Ensure timesheets and inspections reports are completed accurately and submitted in a timely manner
7. Lead the implementation, development, maintenance and improvement of CNC and Fabrication procedures and ensure their on-going use
8. Ensure QC checks are executed as and when required
9. Adhere to all company quality related policies and procedures
10. Maintain a clean and tidy workshop and yard area
11. Be able to operate the forklifts, cranes and vertical lift platforms when trained to do so
12. Ensure adherence to all local waste management policies and procedures
13. Report and participate in investigation of all unsafe practices and/or behaviours
14. Ensure all maintenance & recertification activities for workshop equipment are implemented and updated accordingly
15. Monitor workshop activities to ensure all projects are executed efficiently and in line with HMH quality standards
16. Report on progress and deviations pertaining to ongoing projects
17. Ensure resources are appropriately allocated
18. Provide input to the annual appraisal process for the machine shop
19. Maintain a safe, clean, and organized working environment.
20. Demonstrate unwavering commitment to HMH Values, Compliance, Integrity and HSSE.
Skills and Knowledge
1. Qualified to HNC/NVQ level 3 (or equivalent) in relevant mechanical or fabrication discipline
2. Previous experience managing CNC/fabrication teams
3. Understanding of CNC machine controls such as Fanuc, Siemens, Mazak, or equivalent
4. Highly organised with ability to prioritise and communicate goals effectively
5. Strong oral and written communication skills (English language)
