Our client, a market leader within the Defence / Space industry, is currently looking for a VP of Engineering & Programmes to review, analyze, and evaluate business procedures in order to improve day-to-day operations, ensuring smooth processes.
With an emphasis on product development, program management, and the expansion of overall system engineering capabilities, the VP of Engineering & Program Management position is responsible for supervising the creation, execution, and enhancement of Space Imaging engineering and program execution procedures. The role necessitates technological creativity, leadership, programmatic, communication, and global team-building abilities in addition to broad engineering domain competence in hardware, mechanical, optical, firmware, software, image processing, and testing.
The chosen applicant will be a motivated, high-energy person with experience in the space industry who has demonstrated project delivery success in a senior position. They will have examples of comprehensive change management as well as experience expanding an organization.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
* Work with Product Management, Operations, and Sales leaders to develop the company's technological innovation and development strategy.
* Lead a team of director-level reports, emphasizing timely and cost-effective execution.
* Reorganize and bolster the larger team as needed to ensure alignment with future goals and growth commitments.
* Contribute to the creation and delivery of company and functional objectives.
* Introduce pertinent KPIs to measure and improve performance against those objectives and customer commitments.
* Provide technical direction and oversight for both engineering and program organizational development.
Job Qualifications:
* Extensive demonstrable experience in successful change management and organizational transformation.
* Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in a related discipline (Electrical Engineering, Computer Science).
* 10+ years of Engineering experience.
* 10+ years of Management experience.
* 10+ years of Programme delivery experience.
* Space industry experience.
* Strong experience with diverse engineering disciplines (Mechanical, Hardware, FPGA, Software).
* Financial acumen and strong experience with managing budgets and delivering business cases (R&D, CapEx, P&L).
