Churchill College is one of the thirty-one Colleges of the University of Cambridge. It was founded in 1960 as a national and Commonwealth memorial to Sir Winston Churchill. The College is situated just outside the city centre on a superb 50-acre site, comprising residential accommodation, central communal and office spaces, educational and sports facilities. The College is proud of its spacious campus and excellent facilities, and it is a priority to ensure that the estate is maintained to the highest standards of safety, service, and sustainability. A large proportion of work on the estate is handled in-house by our skilled Maintenance team of electricians, plumbers, carpenters, and general operatives.
Working with a variety of teams in a friendly community, you will be pro-active, hands-on and responsive to the needs of the College, its visitors, and staff.
You will have practical knowledge and skills in the installation, maintenance, and repair of all water services including heating systems, boilers, pumps, valves, and all types of pipe work and ancillary plant. You must be organised, have an eye for detail, and be able to carry out tasks independently of other trades, and occasionally self-manage small refurbishment projects.
This is a full-time role, working on average 37.5 hours per week according to a 4-week rota.
Benefits include a generous pension scheme, healthcare cash plan, five weeks of annual leave, free parking, and lunch on site. The College supports flexible working.
The closing date for applications is Sunday 1 December 2024.
Interviews will be held the week commencing 9 December 2024.
