We are seeking a highly skilled Battery Engineer to join our team for a 12-month contract role in Gaydon. The successful candidate will be accountable for the system design and validation of battery packs, including modules, upper and lower shells, high and low voltage harness, battery disconnect unit (BDU), and heating/cooling schemes. This includes the design of water-cooled pipeline structures to meet the environmental adaptability requirements of the vehicle.
Key Responsibilities:
* Evaluate battery structure design and conduct daily battery tests such as charging and discharging capacity, battery cycle life, and battery failure analysis.
* Design and optimize battery pack thermal management schemes, complete thermal simulations, and perform thermal testing with theoretical calculations.
* Model battery efficiency and service life.
* Manage projects and processes independently with limited supervision.
* Coach and review the work of lower-level professionals.
* Tackle difficult and sometimes complex problems.
Qualifications:
* Advanced knowledge of battery systems design and validation, typically obtained through advanced education and work experience.
* Proven experience in managing projects and processes.
* Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
* Experience in coaching and reviewing the work of junior professionals.
