The Role
The Position
We are looking to appoint a full-time teacher of Drama and LAMDA specialist for a September 2025 start. The successful candidate should be able to teach drama from Year 1 to A-level and be registered or eligible to be registered with GTC Scotland.
The Department
The Drama Department at Glenalmond is an exciting place to be and the successful applicant will join the Head of Drama in delivering Drama lessons throughout the age ranges at both Glenalmond and Craigclowan Prep School and assisting with productions, clubs, and events. The ability to teach LAMDA students and further develop this aspect of our provision would be an advantage. The successful candidate will be expected to support and assist with the Drama Scholar programme which is being developed to recognise talent and ability.
Main Responsibilities
The Role
1. To teach an academic timetable as stipulated by the examination boards.
2. To monitor pupil attendance and academic performance.
3. To take responsibility for all aspects of teaching and learning in Drama within and beyond the curriculum.
4. To ensure all pupils are motivated and are given opportunities to develop their creative talents in a positive, innovative and effective working environment.
5. To ensure that all departmental documentation is collated and securely managed with Data Protection in mind and available for inspection when required.
6. A willingness to be committed to a boarding school ethos; the successful applicant will be expected to take a tutor group and assist with evening duties in a boarding house, normally one evening per week.
7. To teach an academic timetable of GCSE, Higher and A-level courses as stipulated by the examination boards. Teaching also takes place on Saturday mornings (except leave out weekends which occur twice per term).
8. To participate fully in the culture of the school which will include pastoral duties, boarding house duties, form tutor duties, extra-curricular responsibilities and other school duties. This includes Saturday afternoon extra-curricular responsibilities.

7. An in-depth understanding of life in a Boarding School.
8. Demonstrable experience of pastoral care provision.
