As the Health & Safety Manager, you will lead the Health, Safety, Quality, and Environmental (HSQE) efforts across two iconic venues: Headingley Stadium and The City Ground. This role is pivotal in driving a Zero Harm Mindset, ensuring compliance, and fostering a culture of safety and wellbeing for all employees, contractors, and customers.
You will provide expert advice in food safety, fire safety, risk management, and business continuity planning, working closely with site leadership teams to deliver measurable improvements in safety culture and operational excellence. As part of this role, you will need to have your own transport and be flexible to travel between these sites as required.

Main Responsibilities
What you'll do:
1. Deliver expert advice and guidance on HSQE, food safety, fire safety, and employee wellbeing to management teams. Represent the business in HSQE professional communities and lead safety investigations.
2. Be a subject matter expert in risk management and support the development and testing of site-level business continuity plans.
3. Foster a strong safety culture through collaboration and engagement with employees at all levels. Take a leadership role within the health and safety advisor community.
4. Conduct regular site visits, audits (T1/T2), and reviews to ensure compliance with safety standards and policies. Provide expert guidance and ensure timely action on any identified issues.
5. Train and support users on key systems, including Salus, SMS, and DMS, ensuring documentation and reporting processes are effectively maintained.
6. Drive ongoing enhancements in the Zero Harm Mindset and Food Safety Maturity Index, ensuring continual improvement in safety metrics and standards.
7. Lead investigations into incidents, complaints, and regulatory interventions, providing independent assessments and actionable recommendations to leadership teams.
8. Ensure audit calendars are adhered to, action plans are implemented promptly, and T3 audit actions are closed out within specified timeframes.
The Ideal Candidate

Qualifications:
1. NEBOSH Diploma or NVQ Level 4 or above
2. Intermediate Food hygiene Level 3 or above
3. HACCP Level 3
4. Desirable to have Chartered Environmental Health Practitioner, Chartered Safety and Health Practitioner or similar and Environmental management experience and/or qualification.
Skills and Competencies:
1. Experience in a health and safety role, preferably within a multi-site organisation.
2. Strong knowledge of HSQE regulations, standards, and best practices.
3. Excellent leadership, communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
4. Ability to influence, engage and motivate management and cross-functional teams.
5. Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
6. Experience with risk management and business continuity planning.
7. Risk assessment and management.
8. Incident management and investigation.
9. Passion for the hospitality industry.
10. Problem solving, innovating and change management.
11. Familiarity with safety management systems and software.
What we offer
