Main duties of the job
To provide clinical leadership and management for the clinical team.
Provide clinical supervision of dentists and dental therapists/hygienists. This may involve contributing to the appraisal process for colleagues.
Working with the senior leadership team to monitor, lead, assure, and report delivery of clinical care in line with contract requirements of the CIC.
To provide clinical training, mentoring, resources, support and advice for dentists and dental teams.
To maintain clinical presence and activity by providing dental care for an agreed number of sessions.
Undertake thorough examination and assessment of service user and deliver a full and comprehensive range of dental care to the client group to render them dentally fit in a caring, safe and efficient way.
Work effectively with colleagues delivering high quality, responsive clinical services which meet service user needs. This will include liaison with other clinics, University of Suffolk colleagues and other providers of NHS primary care dental services.
Plan and manage care where there are complex needs or the situation requires the involvement of other professionals to resolve complex service user management issues as agreed with local commissioning.
Carry out induction process for new members of the dental team and organise a peer review timetable for training, ongoing learning and support.
To ensure robust clinical governance, infection control and training programmes are in place and mechanisms of quality assurance and reporting are in place.
To support and advise the Operations Managers to achieve Key Performance Indicators by contributing to the development of an effective clinical team. This will include assisting with discussions regarding service plans and developments with both internal and external agencies.
Clinical Leadership in the further development of the dental service to ensure that service delivery is standardised across the service and reflects best clinical practice. Involve service user representatives and other stakeholders with ongoing monitoring of pathways.
Keep up to date with developments in this area and/or able to advise other members of the team.

* Current GDC registration.
* Postgraduate Qualification in a Dental Discipline (or able to demonstrate equivalent experience).
