Renowned engineering organisation seeks Quality Manager for state-of-the-art facility in Abingdon, Oxford. This pivotal role focuses on reducing non-conformance costs and driving "right-first-time" standards to achieve zero customer complaints.
Key responsibilities include:
* Assure product quality and strive for continual total quality improvement.
* Develop cost-effective processes to ensure total quality is promoted.
* Maintain relevant ISO and AS EN 9100 certifications or equivalent.
* Provide management team support, advice, and assistance on quality management and technical engineering.
* Identify quality costs, faults, and work diligently to reduce.
* Liaise with customers and suppliers concerning drawing queries, concessions, or any other problem arising within the department.
* Progress Change Notes Database and timely resolutions.
* Manage and undertake compilation of LTQR and QCP as per customer requirements.
* Provide timely inspection and quality support service to operations, achieving scheduled lead-times.
* Supervise inspection methods and perform, specify, and request any specialised equipment or tooling when necessary.
* Provide QA training, including training of operators in all aspects of inspection techniques and equipment.
* Produce FAIR and 8Ds and Concessions.
* Undertake CMM programming as required.
* Assist in the effective management of the entire measurement and test equipment calibration system.
* Manage NCR database and provide quality assurance to ensure continuous improvement.
* Manage External and Internal Audits.
Required qualifications include:
* Bachelor's degree or relevant qualification in Engineering.
* Strong engineering, drawing understanding (GD&T).
* Multi-year experience as a Quality Lead in a manufacturing environment, preferably low volume SME precision engineering or in an Nuclear/Aerospace/Automotive parts business.
* Experience of working in isolation or a very small team.
* Hands-on & flexible.
* Practical knowledge and experience of Machining and Assembly.
