A successful client of ours is currently recruiting and expanding their Civil Design Team.
2x Junior Engineers – 1-3 years of site/design experience (ideally in water industry) 1x Mid-Level Engineer – 3-5 years of experience, including temporary works and reinforced concrete design
The Role
As a Civil Design Engineer, your day-to-day activities will include:
* Civil engineering design: Developing briefs, calculations, reviewing designs, and preparing risk assessments.
* Co-ordinating with CAD teams to create and review drawings/models.
* Working closely with site delivery teams to ensure constructability and preferred methods of construction.
* Contributing to design reviews, such as HAZOPS, ALMs, and Stage Gate reviews.
* Completing geotechnical reports and managing ground investigation works.
* Conducting site visits to discuss works, review designs and installations, and gather feedback for continuous improvement.
You will regularly visit sites during the construction phase (typically 3 days in the office, 2 days on-site per week). All sites will be within Yorkshire Water’s area, with reasonable travel expenses covered.
The Candidate
* Engineering degree and some experience in civil engineering design.
* Experience using AutoCAD for 2D sketching.
* Familiar with Finite Element Analysis software and other design tools.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
* Strong knowledge of design standards, Eurocodes, and British Standards.
* experience in geotechnical design, reinforced concrete design, and temporary works design.
* Hold a full UK driving license and are willing to travel to sites within the Yorkshire Water area.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Self-motivated with strong attention to detail.
* Highly organised and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
