The Physician Assistant Program clinical faculty shall have the responsibility of developing, executing, and monitoring clinical sites and preceptors, assuring compliance with SACS, ARCPA, and SMS policies and standards. The clinical faculty shall create and/or edit rotation-specific syllabi and preceptor evaluations of students. The clinical faculty shall be involved in teaching, evaluation and assessment, advisement, mentoring, and student compliance with LMU SMS policies. The clinical faculty shall participate in the recruitment, admissions and selection process, and program organization, evaluation, planning, administration, and management, and assist in continuous review and analysis of the LMU PA program curriculum effectiveness in preparation for program assessment by SACS, ARCPA, and SMS.
Required Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited physician assistant training program and certification by NCCPA; current licensure or eligibility for Tennessee licensure; possession of a master's degree in physician assistant studies and actively engaged or willing to obtain a doctoral degree in a field related to medical science; minimum of two years full-time clinical experience as a physician assistant; excellent oral, written, organizational, and computer skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Doctoral degree in a field related to medical science or education; teaching experience in classroom and clinical settings, preferably in an institution of higher learning; program administrative or leadership experience; evidence of potential for excellence in teaching and scholarly activity.

Job Duties
1. Promote the mission of Lincoln Memorial University to all faculty, staff, students, and to the community at large;
2. Promote effective working relationships among faculty, staff, and students;
3. Responsible for working with the Director of Clinical Education to identify and develop new clinical sites for PA clinical rotations and perform clinical site visits;
4. Oversee qualitative and quantitative evaluations of students;
5. Involved in program organization, evaluation, planning, administration and management as well as assist in continuous review and analysis of the program's effectiveness and preparation for program assessment by ARC-PA, LMU, SACSCOC, and others;
6. Provide teaching, evaluation, advisement and mentoring of PA students;
7. Work with LMU-SMS faculty and staff on an ongoing basis to maintain program compliance with the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) criteria for accreditation and reaccreditation;
8. Fulfill the University’s scholarship expectation through research, publication, grant development, creative achievement, and other endeavors consistent with the Faculty/Staff Policy Manual;
9. Provide committee service and attend SMS, PA program and LMU faculty meetings;
10. Develop course schedules, syllabi and student evaluation mechanisms;
11. Serve as Course Director for Clinical Phase courses as assigned and complete End-of-Course reports for assigned Clinical Phase courses and present conclusions based on data analysis and recommendations for action(s)/modification(s) to the Curriculum Committee;
12. Design, implement, coordinate, and evaluate learning and assessment activities for EOS days;
13. Assist in revising the Student Handbook and the Student Catalog as assigned;
14. Participate in the Program’s continuous self-assessment process as directed;
15. Assist in recruiting, developing, evaluating, and maintaining clinical sites and clinical preceptors for Clinical Phase Supervised Clinical Practice Experiences (SCPEs);
16. Revise the Clinical Site/Preceptor Handbook with the assistance of the DCE and Clinical Site and Rotations Manager;
17. Develop, evaluate, and revise policies and procedures for the Clinical Phase with the DCE;
18. Participate in PA student selection;
19. Assure the availability of remedial instruction, as needed and assigned;
20. Participate in the design, implementation, coordination, and evaluation of PA program curriculum;
21. Assist in the administration and evaluation of the PA program;
22. Assist in the search process for selecting PA program faculty;
23. Establish a personal program of scholarly activity;
24. Write, edit, review, and approve learning objectives and test items;
25. Secure, orient, and evaluate clinical preceptors;
26. Provide feedback to instructors/preceptors to help them improve teaching skills;
27. Monitor student progress; serve as primary academic advisor for clinical year students;
28. Perform service activities that advance the PA program, SMS, and the PA profession, including assistance in the recruitment, orientation, and retention of PA students; as assigned;
29. Exhibit/recruit at various meetings as needed; fulfill faculty responsibilities as outlined in the Faculty/Staff Policy Manual;
30. Complete required institutional, program accreditation, and other reports necessary for the advancement of University programs, both on campus and at extended campus sites;
31. Perform other duties as assigned.
