We are looking for an enthusiastic, professional Speech and Language Therapist to join our supportive Adult Learning Disability SALT team to work across North Dorset and the Purbecks areas.
We have a unique opportunity where we are offering a fantastic development post from a Band 5 Speech and Language Therapist to an established Band 6 Speech and Language Therapist. You will be working alongside an integrated, multi-disciplinary team including Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Social Care and Nurses. As this role is based in the community a driver is essential for this role with access to a fully insured car.
The Speech and Language Therapist for Adult Learning Disabilities role is a full-time post of 37.5 hours per week, but part-time and job share would be considered. We can flexible around our core hours of Monday to Friday 09:00 – 17:00 which can be discussed at interview, there is no weekend or public holiday working.

The post holder will be responsible for:
• Providing a clinical service, in the most appropriate location, either individually or as part of a team, to learning disabled clients with communication and / or eating and drinking difficulties, including adults with high and complex support needs, and their family carers and / or care & support providers.
• Promoting inclusive communication, and safe eating and drinking in the lives of adults with learning disabilities.
The post holder will have access to regular clinical and managerial support and supervision. Eating and Drinking work will only be carried out once the appropriate competencies have been completed.
