Our client, a leading manufacturer based near Haywards Heath, is looking to recruit a Buyer to join the business on a 12 Month Fixed Term basis for Maternity Cover.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience working within a Purchasing role in a manufacturing engineering environment. You will need to ensure that all purchase orders are placed to ensure materials arrive in a timely manner to meet demand.
This role is available for a start in the new year based on site in Haywards Heath, 5 days per week.
Hours: Monday - Friday, 8AM - 4.30PM
Role Description
1. Prepare daily analysation report to rationalise daily prioritisation.
2. Convert requisitions to purchase orders and issue to the supply base in a timely manner.
3. Manage and highlight or escalate any issues of part delivery through the most appropriate channels (internal / external) whilst ensuring the purchase manager is kept updated.
4. Create, develop and maintain excellent working relationships with supply base and internal stakeholders.
5. Work with the supply base to better the current position through purchase general tactics.
6. Understand the internal stakeholders / customers' needs and wants to aim to meet and exceed their expectations.
7. Whilst undertaking duties, ensure that all Company policy and procedures are adhered to (including HSE and Quality).
Skills & Attributes
1. Demonstrable experience within a Purchasing role in an engineering/manufacturing environment.
2. Ability to prioritise workload and manage work pressure.
3. Experience working with MRP systems.
4. Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook literate.
5. Excellent communication skills.
