Kennel/Transport Officer
Successful candidates will be responsible for the care and good health of all dogs in Council facilities, initial investigation into complaints, and animal-related issues to residents.
Requirements:
1. Driving licence
2. Own transport
3. Experience of working in a kennel environment in all weathers
4. Experience in handling aggressive and dangerous dogs
5. Experience in investigation
6. Experience in enforcement action
7. Working knowledge of the Animal Welfare Act
8. Working knowledge of the Dangerous Dogs Act
9. Working knowledge of all licensable activities
10. Ability to work with minimum supervision
Duties (including but not limited to):
1. Ensuring that dogs are in good health and properly cared for whilst in kennels and being transported
2. Animal welfare
3. Cleanliness of kennels
4. Awareness of reportable or communicable diseases
5. Transportation of dogs
6. Dealing with members of the public
7. Dealing with confrontation
8. Reporting defects to vehicles and equipment
9. Work shift pattern, including evenings and weekends, with flexibility to change shifts according to service requirements

Languages: English – Advanced
Employment: Full-time
Schedule: Monday-Friday
Salary: £12.25 – £15.40 hourly
