Description
The client are looking to recruit an experienced Quantity Surveyor (QS)/ Commercial Assistant to join our team at Hinkley Point C, through until 2027.
The Role
The primary responsibility is to provide assistant to the onsite Commercial Team.
Requirements
Your new position will include but is not limited to:
Support with the day-to-day administration of lower-tier subcontracts including the payments and application process.
Support with estimating and change management cycle.
Support with the day-to-day commercial functions including but not limited to; Estimating, identification and speedy response to EW’s, RFQ’s, Site Instructions, and any other contractual communications.
Assist with the production and agreements of Interim Applications for payments.
Assisting with forecasting requirements, including internal Monthly Cost to Value Reconciliation.
Close liaison and provision of assistance to all operational and supporting staff to ensure overall effective management across the project.
To support and maintain up to date risk registers, including quantification of risk.
Support Quality and Health and Safety objectives
Work safely and adhere to company policies and procedures and those of our client
Work as part of a team to successfully achieve the aims and objectives of the Project and a company.

Qualifications & Experience Requirements
Experience within a mechanical setting would be beneficial
Preferably Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or other relevant business discipline
Non degree holders should have a demonstratable record of success within a similar role.
Must have good verbal and written communication skills
Excellent numeracy skills
Use of Microsoft Office applications with High knowledge of Excel.
Experience using contractual communication platforms is beneficial.
Hold a Valid CSCS MAPS card or CCNSG Safety Passport
Must be able to obtain the necessary clearance to work at Hinkley Point C
Must be able to commute to their allocated park and ride facility / assigned bus stop on route.

Project Specifics
The position will be based onsite, starting ASAP through until mid 2027.
This role will report into the Commercial Manager and sits within the Project Controls function overseen by the Commercial Director.
Working Hours: 10 hours per day on a 10 day on 4 day off rotation (Working hours may change to suit the needs of the project).
Duration: ASAP for through until 2027
Rate of Pay: Depending on experience, this will be discussed with each applicant
*Allowances: Accommodation Allowance is payable per night worked for any candidates that live over 40 miles from site. Travel Time and Rail Fare payment is also payable once per month during the designated site long weekend (applicable for PAYE/ Monthly Staff payment options only)
Must be eligible to work in the U.K and subject to acceptance/ approval of the BPSS (Baseline Personnel Security Standard) Application and DBS Security Clearance (Disclosure & Barring Service Check)
