1051CW Senior Planning Engineer Hinkley Point C, Somerset Permanent, Full-time £70-95k Perm Car allowance Job Title: Senior Planning Enginner Job Purpose: Senior Planning Engineer required to provide project planning duties on Mechanical & Electrical installation works within the turbine hall of HPC Nuclear New Build Mega Project. Principal Accountabilities: Develop and maintain schedules for design/engineering/construction/commissioning Develop and maintain progress databases Progress reporting including production of Weekly and Monthly reports Milestone projections, delay/float path analysis Recording delay and disruption Earned Value Management Monitoring schedule performance and productivity Site progress verification, including incorporating quality assessments Attending schedule meetings, liaising with client and subcontractors Preparation of tender schedules Preparation of histograms Leading planning meetings and weekly work planning systems Resource/cash loading of schedules Providing data for payment applications Completing contract review reports Responsibility for quality and accuracy of schedules and reports Making relevant parties aware of issues and advising on solutions Nature and Scope: Meets daily with the whole team to review programme and agree activities Involved with the team in decision making and problem solving Ensure planning meetings are led effectively, are focussed and productive Listens to every members views and aims at consensus decisions Is committed to the team and cares for every member Continuously seeks ways to improve performance, is open to and adopts new ideas Understands the needs and aspirations of all team members Has the courage to do what is right and required, never compromise goals Displays a _can-do_ attitude and enthusiasm Demonstrates commitment to the organisation, its mission, vision, values and goals Creates meaning and challenge for team members in the workplace Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications & Experience: Essential: A good analytical approach Sound IT skills including Primavera P6, Excel, PowerPoint and Word Work on own initiative and proven ability to prioritise workload and problem solve Self-motivated & able to work under pressure and to deadlines Good Communication Skills including the ability to build good working relationships Ability to chair meetings both with internal and external stakeholders 5 years previous experience of construction projects Ideally a third level degree in a construction-related field Proficient in all MS Office packages, with advanced level MS Excel Excellent organisational and project planning skills Excellent negotiation & problem-solving skills Ability to work as part of a team & work on own initiative Ability to work well under pressure and within a strict deadline environment Excellent communication skills Team player with ability to build effective relationships at all levels Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work well within a friendly team Career driven, ambitious and enthusiastic Health and Safety Responsibilities: Managers and supervisors carry both legal and company responsibilities for ensuring the health and safety of their employees, those under their control and those who might be affected by the work undertaken, i.e. public, visitors and employees of other organisations.
