About the Physical Education Department : The PE department is passionate and dedicated to fostering physical fitness, teamwork, and personal development. It has a strong history of success at both GCSE and A-Level and provides opportunities for students to engage in a variety of sports, from traditional team sports to more niche activities. The department prides itself on encouraging students to develop skills, confidence, and a lifelong love of physical activity. Responsibilities : Teach Physical Education to KS3, KS4, and KS5 students, ensuring a challenging and engaging curriculum. Plan and deliver high-quality lessons that cater to the diverse needs of students. Provide pastoral care as a form tutor, supporting students’ personal development and well-being. Participate in extracurricular sports activities and support school teams in competitions. Contribute to the development of the PE department's curriculum and teaching materials. Lead initiatives within the department, as part of your TLR responsibilities. Encourage and foster a culture of healthy living and sportsmanship across the school. Experience and Qualifications : Degree in Physical Education or a related field. QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent teaching qualification. Experience teaching Physical Education to KS3, KS4, and KS5 students. TLR experience or leadership potential is highly desirable.
