Job summary We have a new and exciting key role within Velindre Trust to Support the Head of Information Governance and the comprehensive information governance agenda trust wide. As the post holder you will support the myriad of programme delivery objectives across the Trust ensuring compliance with applicable legislation, standards and common law. Utilise highly developed administrative, time management and organisational skills to ensure timescales are delivered against a backdrop of challenging timescales and conflicting priorities. The successful candidate would have worked in a similar role in a health, social care or similar setting and where Information Governance (IG)is a significant aspect or main responsibility of their current post. You will be highly motivated and looking for a new challenge in a dynamic and changing environment to help embed compliance with statutory legislation, standards and common law. Main duties of the job The role of an IG Officer is to primarily support the Trust's IG management requirements and facilitate the Trust's compliance with them. Act as a source of data protection advice and guidance within the Trust, disseminating and reinforcing good governance and security practice to all staff and providing consultancy support to projects, advising on all matters relating to Information Governance, delivering training and conducting audits. The post holder will provide advice to the organisation and support compliance and conformance with all relevant standards and legislation, including the Data Protection Act (2018), General Data Protection Regulations 2016 (GDPR). You will assist and support the Head of Information Governance and Data Protection Officer in all matters relating to Information Governance. Review, develop and maintain policies and procedures in compliance with data protection legislation, Caldicott Principles, information security, records management and other related national and local standards. Communicate Information Governance advice to members of Staff, within your own levels of knowledge and expertise, referring to the Head of Information Governance when appropriate.
