Project Coordinator - Pace of Mind NWM/481 Hours : Part Time – 7.5 hours per week - day to be agreed with successful candidate Fixed Term Contract - 8 months Salary: £ 26,292 - £27,835 per annum - Depending on probation status (Salary quoted is for full time hours, salary would be pro rata for part time hours) Location: Lowestoft & Sheringham Due to the nature of the role a driver licence and access to a vehicle is essential for this role, mileage is paid at 45p per mile for cars after your home to work base mileage is deducted. The Role Our tried and tested Pace of Mind project enters a new phase thanks to a grant from Sport England. This is an exciting opportunity to set up a new group in Lowestoft and continue with an existing group in Sheringham for people experiencing low mood, isolation or stress to become more physically active and more socially connected. The Project Coordinator will work with a freelance Activity Leader to ensure each group becomes self-sustaining by the end of the eight months project. They will encourage up to five participants/volunteers to take the free Leadership in Fitness and Running (LiRF) Certification to create capacity and enable to further expansion of the Pace of Mind groups. Monthly Forest Bathing sessions will strengthen the participants’ ability to connect with nature and lead to the adopt pro-environmental behaviours. We are looking for the right person with outstanding experience of organising walking/running groups, experience of supporting people with mild to medium mental health problems with a caring, supportive attitude and honed project management and communication skills. Due to the limited time frame we are keen to identify as soon as possible the ideal candidate with the skills and experience to hit the ground running in October 2024. This project is part of the Community Projects team. The scope of the project, funded by the Sport England Small Grants Fund, is to set up a new walking/running group and continue to support an existing one to help people experiencing, or at risk of, poor mental health to improve their physical and mental health, to build resilience to stress and low mood, adopt pro-environmental behaviours and build capacity to make the existing groups self-sustaining and create new ones.
