An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Property and Space Planner to join our Estates department within the Estates & Facilities Directorate at the University of Wolverhampton. You are responsible for the management and oversight of all space that University of Wolverhampton operates, leases, and rents. Ensuring that all areas have appropriate layout drawings, together with a comprehensive database for all rooms, its spaces, occupation, and usage. Prepare and update drawings, database, and other information and carry out necessary surveys to ensure that space is used and managed efficiently. This role is key to helping deliver the Estates Strategy for the university. Property & Space Responsibilities Responsible for collating, developing, and maintaining the Space Management database. Working with the BIM and Digital Asset Manager to ensure Architectural (Revit) BIM Models are updated as necessary in terms of space usage, departmental ownership layouts etc. Responsible for the design of internal office layouts including efficient furniture and configurations and/or building reconfigurations, in line with current space norms and Building regulations. Responsible reviewing, distributing enforcing and implementation of the Space Management Policy across all areas of the estate space. Undertaking room/space surveys/dimension checking as required to assess usage/occupancy and bookings levels and update space data records and models appropriately. Implement and manage strategic space reviews and detailed planning exercises to assist the senior management team in developing strategic estate/building development plans for recommendation to the University. Supporting The Moves Manager and adherence to the space management policy in the undertaking of staff moves to ensure swift migration of staff. Responsible for Project managing the University’s internal/external wayfinding signage, including design, specification and ordering and working with colleagues within the directorate and external stakeholders to ensure it is fixed appropriately and in a timely manner. Property & Space Requirements GCSE English and Maths grade C or above. City and Guilds in AutoCAD 2D/3D Draughting Minimum Ordinary National Certificate or Ordinary National Diploma (ONC/OND) in construction related field. Previous experience in a similar and relevant role, particularly in a higher education environment. Auditing and surveying skills CAD/BIM based experience in either AutoCAD or Revit.
