Hours of work: 37 hours per week, 5 days
Our client, a leader in Nuclear Generation require a Training Instructor to join their team based at Gloucester Business Park. In this role you will take the lead on engineering training programmes within the Engineering and Technical Training team, including courses such as Nuclear Fundamentals, AGR Plant Systems and Engineering Processes; driving the development and delivery of engaging training packages which will leave a lasting impact on trainees and enable them to play their part in shaping the future workforce.
As well as the technical training required for your role you will also receive training to become a Fleet Certified Instructor (FCI), so while prior experience in training may be beneficial it is by no means essential.
Applicants should be able to demonstrate of the following skills/experience:
Holds previous experience in an similar role or equivalent.
Has good interpersonal and communication skills.
Has a thirst for leaning and able to get to grips with fundamental Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) subjects.
Ability to work within a team or on their own initiative.
Ability to problem solve
Can remain calm and customer focused.
Takes charge and drives projects forward.
Is willing and able to travel when required to deliver relevant training away from the base Gloucester Business Park location.
Role information:
Completing FCI Training, learning to apply the Systematic Approach to Training (SAT).
Learning, developing, training and gaining experience in engineering and other key areas.
Delivering training to up to 20 people at a time, as well as coaching and mentoring trainees when needed to support learning.
Acting as course coordinator for assigned training area(s).
Evaluating the effectiveness of training courses and seeking innovative ways to improve them.
Acting as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for training/programme area(s) and demonstrating a deep understanding of the relevant company standards.
Ensuring company values, safety and Operating Experience (safety occurrence reports) are embedded throughout the training delivery, training material and lesson
Communicating with line managers across the existing fleet of UK power stations for the successful development of competence within their staff.
Building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders and SMEs for development and updates of material.
Communicating with external contractors (if required), to provide training support services.
Fully contributing to the business plan of the NSA and to support the achievement of company organisational goals.
