The Programme Manager reports to the Executive Manager for Children’s Social Work and is part of the Children’s Services Directorate. The post holder is responsible for managing the Children’s Social Work improvement programme. This programme will include a dynamic range of improvement work (including, for example, projects which support Shetland’s commitment to Keeping the Promise, and local development and implementation of the Scottish Government’s Bairns Hoose Standards). The work of the Programme Manager is strategically aligned with the priorities of the Shetland Children’s Partnership and the post holder will play a key role in Children’s Social Work response to these priority areas of development.
The post holder will be required to exercise the necessary skill and expertise to develop and implement new programmes and procedures, which balance strategic objectives and professional practice alongside maintaining the safety and protection of Shetland’s children and young people.
