988CW Lead Fire Safety Advisor Hinkley Point C, Somerset Long Term, Full-time £350 PAYE to £475 UMBRELLA per day Job Title: Lead Fire Safety Advisor Description & Background: The Lead Fire Safety Advisor will join HPC's specialist fire safety and compliance team, reporting to the Fire Safety Manager. This critical role supports fire safety requirements for the HPC Site Operations team, ensuring approximately 70 buildings of varying sizes and complexities remain safe and legally compliant. As part of Europe's largest infrastructure project, you'll act as the fire safety SME for the built environment within the Principal Contractor (NNB GenCo) while supporting continuous improvement of fire safety arrangements. Principal Responsibilities: Review and assess Fire Risk Assessments for approximately 60 buildings Conduct site-based fire safety assurance inspections and audits Assess and recommend fire safety measures and mitigation strategies Provide expert fire safety advice and guidance to contractors Support development of fire safety procedures meeting legislative requirements Review implementation of Principal Contractors construction and design policy Maintain up-to-date knowledge of sector practices and regulations Support incident data collection and reporting Carry out fire safety inspections across Southwest locations Required Qualifications & Experience: Level 4 in Fire Risk Assessment (or equivalent) with minimum 5 years' experience Professional membership with IFSM/IFE/IOSH Understanding of IFEDA and FIA Extensive experience producing Fire Risk Assessments across various building types Working knowledge of passive and active containment Strong understanding of fire safety legislation and regulations Experience with BS5839, ADB, BS9999, BS7974, BS5266, BS5306, BS9251 Essential Skills: Expert knowledge of fire prevention and detection systems Understanding of prescriptive and performance-based fire safety design Strong organizational and work planning abilities Excellent verbal and written communication skills Self-motivated with ability to manage multiple priorities Valid driving license for car-based travel essential Salary, Location & Details: Based at Hinkley Point C with travel across Southwest Long Term, Full-time position £350 PAYE to £475 UMBRELLA per day This role offers an exceptional opportunity to join Europe's largest infrastructure project, ensuring fire safety compliance across a complex construction environment while contributing to the UK's nuclear renaissance.
