Materials Controller £35,000 £3-5% annual bonus 33 days holiday (inc BH) Private Medical Cover Option for an early 1pm finish on a Friday Our client are looking for a Materials Controller to join their heavy industrial manufacturing site based in Trafford Park, reporting to the Warehouse and Materials Manager. The Materials Controller will ensure a steady and efficient supply of components for production. In this role, you will manage material flow across three sites in Trafford Park, Manchester, preventing disruptions and keeping manufacturing on schedule to meet customer demands. Hours for the role are 8am-4pm Mon-Thurs and 8am-3.30pm Fri. There is the opportunity to work an extra 30 mins Mon-Thurs to qualify for a early finish on Friday (around 1pm). Responsibilities and duties of the Materials Controller: Overseeing the material flow across the three sites and ensuring a continuous supply to production. Managing and updating the Production Work in Progress (WIP) tracker, highlighting any potential material risks. Monitoring sub-contracted and refurbished materials with suppliers, ensuring turnaround times are met. Conducting root cause analysis to identify and resolve stock losses and material disruptions in production. Ensuring accurate tracking of stock throughout the Production Work in Progress (WIP) tracker. Attending internal meets as required Assisting with quarterly stock take as needed Supporting the procurement team in supplier meetings when necessary and ensuring material purchase orders are scheduled to meet production requirements. Working with the production and planning teams to ensure any changes to the plan are reflected in material availability. Working with the Warehouse and Transport teams to ensure a smooth and efficient material delivery. Working with the procurement, production and warehouse teams to explore and implement alternative material supply methods to optimise production line efficiency. Assisting the Warehouse and Materials Manager with relevant tasks as required.
