Job Purpose
To assist in the preparation and delivery service of food and drink from the Catering & Events department throughout the University Campus, ensuring that the service provision is delivered efficiently and to a high standard.
You will be responsible for the preparation and delivery, set up and collection of the universities delivered catering on campus. As a member of the conference & events team you will also assist with the set up and breakdown of functions.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
1. To undertake the food preparation, packing, delivery preparation, set up and collection of delivered catering around campus.
2. To maintain set standards of service to ensure a consistent and professional service for a wide range of customers including staff, students and visitors. Demonstrate a passion for customer service excellence and offer a personalised service that exceeds customer expectation.
3. To liaise with your catering colleagues to ensure all orders are met and build effective relationships to maintain a positive and professional environment.
4. Organising daily routes for the department and planning for the week ahead in relation to drop offs and pickups.
5. Liaising with the hospitality chef to ensure knowledge of dietary needs, and stock levels needing replenished.
6. Use sound judgement in dealing with customer queries/complaints and take appropriate action for agreeable solution(s) to be found, escalating issues as required.
7. Communicate issues and improvements that can be made to service to refine and help make role more efficient.
8. Any other reasonable duty as instructed by your line manager or a member of the UofG Commercial Ltd management team.
Knowledge, Qualifications, Skills and Experience
Knowledge/Qualifications
Essential:
1. An ability to demonstrate the competencies to undertake the duties associated with this level of post having acquired the necessary knowledge and skills in a similar role elsewhere.
2. Full UK driving license
3. Knowledge of Health & Safety procedures relevant to the role.
4. Knowledge of food preparation and delivery.
Desirable:
1. Allergen knowledge/qualifications
2. Food safety level 1 and 2

Experience
Essential:
1. Previous experience in a catering/hospitality environment.

Terms and Conditions
Salary will be £12.60 per hour.
This post is offered on a part time, open ended and fractional basis for a minimum 10 hours per month.
