An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 3 Clinical Support Assistant to work in North Cumbria East Community Treatment Team.
The post will involve working as part of a team that provides high quality community mental health care and treatment. This post is specifically to be involved in the physical health pathway and support with clinic sessions.
If you are successful, your role will be to assist in the delivery of care and treatment to service users who have a variety of needs, diverse presentations, and a range of mental health conditions under the direction and guidance of a registered practitioner.
An aspect of the role is to work alongside nursing colleagues in the team's physical treatment clinics.
The team consists of a well-established mix of professionals that work collaboratively to deliver individualised care.
The role involves supporting the clinical members of the team to deliver evidence-based treatment and to engage in collaborative working across the multi-agency team.
You will be provided with additional training and regular clinical supervision.
Main Duties of the Job
1. To assist in the delivery of care to service users who have a variety of needs, diverse presentations, and a range of mental health conditions, under the direction of a registered practitioner.
2. To implement and evaluate care within a prescribed framework as a member of the care team ensuring that high quality, individualised care is delivered and that this promotes recovery and wellbeing and maximises independence.
3. To support in the running of treatment clinics including phlebotomy and physical health checks.
4. To maintain electronic health records of any treatment interventions completed.
5. To work as a member of the team in providing excellent and effective person-centred care.
6. To provide compassionate care that is based on empathy, kindness, respect, and dignity.
7. To actively engage with supervision and appraisal process as identified in Trust policy.

Person Specification
Education and Qualification
* Senior Healthcare Support Worker or equivalent or working towards
* Willing to work towards being trained in phlebotomy
* Experience of working within a relevant clinical service
* GCSE A-C in maths and English or equivalent.
Knowledge and Experience
* Experience of working/volunteering in an appropriate care setting
* Experience of working with service users who have complex needs
* Knowledge or experience of substance/alcohol misuse
* Previous experience in a community setting
* Experience of involving service users/carers in evaluation/planning and monitoring of services
Skills
* Good verbal and written communication skills.
* Competent in the use of Information Technology.
* Experience working within an MDT.
* Demonstrate good organisational skills.
* Ability to contribute to a learning environment.
* Phlebotomy training.
* ECG training.
Additional Requirements
* Ability to meet the mobility and geographical requirements of the rural post.
