Our Fragrance and Beauty Division has four main business areas: Fine Fragrance, Consumer Products (including Oral Care), Active Beauty and Fragrance Ingredients. Every day we touch the lives of a huge number of global consumers through our market-leading prestige fragrances and perfumes and oral care flavours for iconic household and personal care products. The Science and Technology team is actively involved in providing day-to-day support for these developments, as well as key innovations to support our future developments.
We have an opportunity for an enthusiastic student, interested in sensory science, to join our Sensory Science team in Ashford for a year. This team manages external and internal trained sensory panels, supporting key fragrance and technology development programmes. One of our key areas of current investment is to help support our new and exciting innovation initiatives in Oral Care and you will be actively involved in this area, building on the work that our current student is carrying out. You will also be providing additional support for key Fragrance projects within the department.
We are looking for an individual who is willing to work hard, able to learn quickly and play an active role in the progress of the research programmes of this team.
The ideal candidate will possess the following competencies:
1. An interest in innovative research and the development and application of sensory testing methods to that research;
2. An ability to assimilate knowledge, work accurately, analyse results and report them clearly;
3. An ability to work alone or as a part of a team;
4. Excellent communication skills (written and spoken);
5. Numerate and computer literate;
6. Well-organised and highly self-motivated.
This is a temporary, one year contract.
