ABOUT US Spreadex has been operating for 25 years as a sports and financial spread betting provider. The business expanded to offer fixed odds betting in 2010, casino betting in 2011 and CFD trading in 2017. Spreadex is the only global operator to offer all these services under one brand. After 25 years of sustained profits, we’re now looking to take the next step and materially grow the business in the next 5 years on both the sports and financials side. This opening provides the successful candidate with the opportunity to join a growing team in a vibrant office based in St Albans, just outside London. The role will be a mix of working from the office and working from home. ABOUT THE POSITION The company is looking to recruit skilled Sports Quantitative Developers, to join our development team. The role is well suited to an individual who likes using their mathematical knowledge to calculate the likelihood of sporting events occurring and using coding skills to integrate these calculations into our systems. As a Sports Quantitative Developer, you will be part of the team that maintains and develops our suite of sports applications. These applications are used by our sports trading team, and control the creation, pricing, and settlement of our fixed odds and spread betting markets. The role will often involve using mathematical models to calculate the expected chance of events happening in a sporting event. This information will then be used to create associated spread betting and fixed odds prices. You will use your coding abilities to apply these mathematical models within the sports applications, to allow our clients the opportunity to bet on a wide range of markets. This is mostly done in C#, with SQL coding used when interacting with the database. You will work with developers within the team, and other stakeholders, during the development process. The role will also include creating and enhancing reports to aid business decisions, which will often utilise SQL coding. You will work within the team and with other departments on technical issues. Due the nature of the sporting calendar, there will be the requirement to offer support outside regular working hours on occasion. ABOUT YOU You will have a mathematical or IT based degree from a top University at grade 2-1 or higher. Strong A-Level’s, in Science or Maths based subjects. Programming experience preferably in C#, and SQL would be an advantage. Ability to deal with quantitative based problems - particular in probability.
