There is an exciting opportunity for Maternity Support Workers to join the Community Midwifery teams. We have two full time posts available; covering the Maritime (Ashington and Blyth) and Hadrian (Wallsend and Killingworth) teams.

Maternity support workers (MSWs) are an integral part of the maternity workforce and play an important role in supporting midwives and the wider maternity teams, mothers and their babies through pregnancy, labour and during the postnatal period. Providing a safe holistic approach to birth person centred care.
Are you enthusiastic and passionate about supporting mothers and babies, have excellent communication skills and are looking for a challenging role where you can help support and nurture new parents and babies then join our maternity team.
We manage three major locality hospitals at North Tyneside, Wansbeck and Hexham, plus a number of smaller community hospitals and clinics from Tynemouth to Berwick on Tweed, in addition to our state-of-the-art Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital, the first of its kind in England. We also care for people in their homes and provide services from facilities in local communities such as health centres. We give people greater choice and control over their care to help them to live independently at home and avoid hospital admission where appropriate. The post holder is expected to demonstrate they have the Essential person specification in line with the Job Description and undertake a set of defined competencies. Support will be given to employees to further develop their skills and explore pathways for progression where appropriate.
