Sales Manager MICE
We are looking for an exceptional Sales Manager to join our team and take responsibility for achieving and exceeding the revenue target for The Grand.
You will be responsible for driving the hotel revenue by penetrating the local and national Meeting & Events marketplace, securing and increasing the productivity of existing accounts, securing new accounts within a geographical area, to deliver market/customer share. To conscientiously work with the Director of Sales and Hotel Management Team to drive profitable performance.
This will all be done through structured and impressive sales planning, you will focus on building long term, profitable client relationships to enable revenue, growth and retention.
What you will do
You will support the Director of Sales with implementing the Proactive Sales strategy for The Grand which allows us to confidently enter the market and truly stand out in Birmingham. The role includes proactively hunting for new meetings & events business opportunities and account management of existing clients
You’ll organise the FAM trip calendar, carry out sales appointments and also accompany your sales team on appointments as per their development.
You will conduct local market research, promote the Hotel within the city and host Sales appointments to welcome new customers to The Grand and generate repeat business for the Hotel.
Please note as this role will involve extensive travel within the UK and potentially abroad, it is preferable that candidates have full UK driving licence and access to their own vehicle.
Ideal candidate
• Previous experience in a Senior Sales and Marketing role is essential
• Experience in the MICE market is desirable
• Experience of Opera Sales and Catering
• Proven successful business development and account management is essential
• A creative, imaginative and dynamic approach
• Impressive presentation and negotiation skills
• Commercial awareness, drive, numeracy and the ability to create business plans to drive sales and profitability Positive and pro-active attitude
