Job Vacancy: PSHCE Teacher (Secondary age Students with SEN)
Location: Chatham, Kent
Contract type: Temporary (Terms 5 & 6)
We are recruiting on behalf of an inclusive secondary school in Chatham, Kent, committed to providing a high-quality education for students with Special Educational Needs (SEN). We are seeking an enthusiastic and passionate PSHCE Teacher to work in both Terms 5 and 6 of the academic year.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Deliver engaging and inclusive PSHCE lessons to secondary age students with a range of SEN.
2. Tailor lessons and activities to meet the diverse needs of students, ensuring they can access the curriculum in a supportive and nurturing environment.
3. Provide effective differentiation, support, and strategies to enhance learning outcomes.
4. Contribute to the development and delivery of the PSHCE curriculum.
5. Build strong relationships with students, supporting their personal development and well-being.
6. Work collaboratively with the wider school team, including teaching assistants, SENCOs, and leadership staff, to ensure students thrive in all areas of school life.
Ideal Candidate:
1. A qualified teacher with experience in teaching PSHCE or a related subject such as RE, citizenship, social sciences.
2. Passionate about supporting students with SEN and promoting their personal, social, and emotional development.
3. Skilled in creating an inclusive, supportive, and engaging learning environment.
4. Able to plan and deliver lessons that meet the needs of students with varying levels of ability.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students and colleagues.
6. Experience in using strategies to support students with social, emotional, and mental health needs is highly desirable.
