Position Overview: Our client, a well-established family-owned business, is seeking an experienced and proactive Financial Accountant to join their growing finance team. The successful candidate will play a key role in the preparation of management accounts for the company’s operations in South Africa, Jersey, and the UK. This role will involve direct reporting to the Property Business Financial Director (FD), supervision of three finance team members, and maintaining close communication with their South African-based business to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. Key Responsibilities: Prepare and review management accounts for the group’s operations across South Africa, Jersey, and the UK. Supervise a team of three finance staff, ensuring efficient completion of tasks and accuracy in reporting. Provide ongoing support to the UK finance team and maintain close contact with the South African business to ensure smooth and timely financial reporting. Perform month-end procedures including accruals, prepayments, and balance sheet reconciliations. Raise and process ad hoc payments using both UK and South African internet banking systems. Prepare and post necessary accounting journals. Oversee and maintain the fixed asset register. Assist with the preparation of the annual budget and quarterly rolling forecasts, including the bank covenant report. Respond to financial queries from internal and external stakeholders in a timely and professional manner. Oversee the purchase and sales ledger processes. Monitor costs across the business to identify and ensure savings are made where appropriate. Prepare and submit the quarterly VAT return. Ensure the property management software reconciles with the debtor balances in the SAFE system. Support the preparation of tax analysis and related reporting. Ideal Candidate Profile: Experience with Sage accounting software is advantageous but not essential. Property business experience would be highly beneficial. Proven ability to produce accurate financial reports for both internal and external stakeholders. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, is essential. Accountancy Practice experience is highly desirable. Qualifications: Ideally, the candidate will be CIMA, ACCA, or FCCA qualified; however, support will be provided for professional development if needed.
