We are looking for a Senior Leader with experience in operational management and working in Children and Young People’s Services to join our Care Service Leadership Team. The Head of Operations is part of a team of senior Managers and Clinical Leaders working collectively across the Care Services directorate to ensure that high quality care is consistently delivered in all our clinical services.
Working autonomously in our Services, the Head of Operations plays a vital role in close partnership with a Clinical Lead for the Services they manage; enabling staff and building effective relationships with stakeholders and commissioners – developing services to meet the needs of the population we serve. This includes working closely with the two Provider Collaboratives that commission the two CYPS in-patient services across Leeds and York and NHSE with the National Deaf CAMHS Service covering the North of England.
In line with Trust values and strategy, the Head of Operations' key accountability is the planning, organising, and deployment of resources to deliver high quality care in their Service portfolio. They are accountable for ensuring that high standards of care are provided in line with requirements, regulations, and good practice, and that contractual requirements are delivered consistently within the funding available.
The postholder will provide highly expert levels of support and leadership to direct reports, ensuring that effective management, improvement, governance, and performance systems are in place, demonstrating positive leadership through their behavior and role modelling.
We are a high-quality, high-performing NHS foundation trust, the main provider of specialist mental health and learning disability services in Leeds. We also provide specialist inpatient services in York and some highly specialised services across the country. We employ around 3,000 staff and every year we have contact with over 25,000 service users. Our vision is to provide outstanding mental health and learning disability services as an employer of choice. Our ambition is to support our service users and carers, our staff, and the communities we serve to live healthy and fulfilling lives. We need people like you to help us achieve our goals; to live our lives free from stigma and discrimination; and to improve the lives of people with a learning disability and mental ill health.
We perform well against local and national targets, and in our most recent CQC inspection, 85% of our services were rated good or outstanding. As a teaching trust with strong links to local universities, we are a centre of excellence for teaching, research, and development.
The post holder will be required to develop, maintain, and manage effective relationships with a range of stakeholders internally and externally, across all disciplines, including service users, carers, partner agencies, and organisations. The post holder will need to be visible to front-line staff and be an enabling and supportive senior leader and positive role model. They will always work within the Trust behaviour framework and make decisions and act in line with Trust values, communicating and interacting widely while representing the Trust externally across all our networks and touchpoints.
