Brewery Team Leader - Wells Brewery - Bedford, Bedfordshire Company Description Brewpoint We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Brewery Shift Team Leader responsible for maintaining a safe and efficient working environment, overseeing day-to-day activities of their shift, and leading a team to achieve production goals. The Brewery Team Leader will play a crucial role in implementing safety protocols, ensuring adequate training for all team members, effective quality control and fostering a culture of solving problems, continuous improvement, and customer consciousness. Position Train, develop & empower team, working towards a fully cross-trained department Conduct monthly one to ones, enhancing confidence, product knowledge, and communication. Design Team Rotas, manage TOIL and holiday requests. Cover production where needed. Manage daily activities based on the weekly production plan and available resources, ensuring production KPI's are achieved. Be the first point of contact for breakdowns, non-conformances & health & safety concerns. Delegate standard work and 5S tasks to team members and conduct Monthly 5S Audits. Lead Daily Tier 1 production meetings and handover meetings with Lead Brewer support. Maintain a safe environment for all team members and customers. Ensure daily Health & Safety GEMBA walks are complete in Alert65. Ensure understanding and adherence to Brewery HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) Implement and monitor QC/QA processes to maintain high-quality standards throughout the brewery. Support daily cellar reviews and actions as required. Ensure accurate weekly stock counts and availability of materials for future production. Management of all yard activities, ensuring goods in/out procedure is followed. Update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) annually or as required due to process changes. Instil a customer-conscious mentality within the production team, ensuring environmental cleaning is always in order. Support the Brewery Engineer with breakdowns and Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPMs). Support Lead Brewer with Continuous Improvement projects. Requirements Proven experience in a leadership role within a brewery or manufacturing setting or two years’ experience as a multi-skilled operator inhouse. Strong understanding of safety protocols, quality control, and production processes. Excellent communication and people skills. Problem-solving attitude and ability to motivate and inspire a team. Knowledge of 5S principles and Standard Work procedures. Working towards IBD or Lean Manufacturing credentials. Holder of an FLT Certificate. Ability to manage and delegate tasks effectively. Familiarity with inventory management and stock control.
