The Role
Our client is currently seeking to recruit an Assistant Planner from an operations background to join their team in East London. This is an excellent opportunity if you are an Assistant Site Manager looking to get into project planning.
As an Assistant Planner, you will be responsible for providing a support service to the work-winning and project teams to produce and monitor efficient and effective programmes and logistics/phasing plans, ensuring that projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
Roles and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
* Support the work-winning team by providing a planning service to produce efficient and effective programmes, method statements, and logistics/phasing plans, seeking guidance from more experienced staff where necessary.
* Take part in the tender handover process to gain a full understanding of the submitted tender and requirements of the contract.
* Contribute to the production and maintenance of the following:
o Procurement Summary
o Design Release Schedule
o Information Required Schedule
o Main Contract Deliverables Schedule
* Present programmes and plans to project stakeholders as required.
* Closely monitor progress against the agreed project programme to identify risks in achieving completion on time, and opportunities for mitigation of delays/earlier completion, and provide complete and accurate reports to senior management regularly.
* Support the project team to manage disputes with the supply chain in respect of programme matters.
* Contribute to Post Contract Reviews to identify lessons learnt to inform improvement in project processes.
Qualifications and experience:
* Hold a university degree in a construction-related subject.
* Have a good understanding of health and safety, environment, and sustainability requirements for construction projects.
